Christian Legal Aid Office is here to provide free legal advice and representation to the needy within Orange County, California. CLAO exists to enable local churches to heed God’s call to defend the poor and needy, and to administer justice equally and fairly. If someone does not have the financial resources to hire an attorney, she is left to navigate the intricate legal system on her own. This is where CLAO can help.
Our volunteer and staff attorneys provide pro bono legal services for individuals.
Attorneys: assist at legal clinics: consult with clients, offer practical advise pro se coaching (assisting clients in self-representation), pro bono representation, professional consultation/mentoring of volunteer attorneys, fundraising, spread the word about our vision, prayer support
Non-attorney volunteers assist in a variety of ways.
Non-attorneys: assist at legal clinics: help set-up/tear down, check-in clients, office work: answer phones, basic data entry, fundraising, outreach, social media, blogging, web development, prayer support

Mission Statement
Our Mission Is To Seek Justice For Those In Need. God’s Word calls upon His people to "defend the rights of the poor and needy" (Proverbs 31:9) yet local churches are generally not well equipped to provide direct legal assistance to their members. CLAO works to bridge the gap between the churches call to ensure that justice is administered equally and fairly (Deuteronomy 25:13-16) and the poor’s need for legal advocacy.
