We sew, knit and crochet baby and preemie items and then distribute these items free of charge to agencies and hospitals in Western NY. We also make, from donated wedding gowns, bereavement sets for the smallest of angels that pass on. NIN volunteers provide care necessities to agencies and hospitals serving premature, ill or impoverished newborns.
Meetings are the 4th Wednesday of the month at The Lockport Public Library, 23 East Ave, Lockport, NY. Come any time between 6:00pm - 8:00pm and stay as long as you like. You can come to a monthly work meeting or make things at home and donate them, your choice.
You don't have to know how to sew, knit, or crochet to be able to help out. There’s fabric to cut, things to tag and sort, deliveries to make, etc. If you really want to help, there is always something for you to do. Newborns in Need, Inc. (NIN) is a 501(c) 3 charity organized to take care of needy babies. NIN volunteers provide care necessities to agencies and hospitals serving premature, ill or impoverished newborns. Newborns In Need distributes items free of charge to babies in the United States. Founded upon Christian principles of love and acceptance, "NIN" has provided essential items without charge to those in need since 1992.
Description
We knit, sew and crochet baby blankets, garments and sometimes bereavement outfits. We deliver these things free of charge to local hospitals and agencies in WNY.
