The Jobs for Life job readiness training course for adults incorporates biblical truths and stories to help men and women understand their dignity and God-given identity and gifts, develop character, and foster a supportive community that will equip them for work and life. This method, combined with soft skills training, has proven to enable unemployed and underemployed men and women to find and keep meaningful employment.
Teachers will use materials that include a curriculum, tools and resources needed to implement a Jobs for Life class. During 8 weeks and 16 sessions, you will walk with students and cover topics such as:
- Understanding of my value/identity
- Biblical understanding of work
- Understanding my life journey
- Identifying and overcoming roadblocks
- Perseverance and positive attitude
- Succeeding through adversity
- Integrity in the workplace
- Personal responsibility/self discipline
- Conflict resolution
- Excelling on the job
- Effective communication skills
- Job search techniques
- Managing employer expectations
- Proper customer satisfaction
- Developing a resume and vocational plan
- Local business community perspective
- Developing community and networks

Description
To build a stronger and more sustainable community not only by promoting wise use of local natural and economic resources, but by identifying, developing and including underutilized human resources that are effectively prevented from participating in the local economy.
