Help to beautify the historic fallow deer pen, a relic of Henry Miller’s days atop the mountain. Our project is a great opportunity to learn more about Mt. Madonna and its fallow deer. Volunteers will meet park staff at the Deer Pen Parking Area, Mt. Madonna County Park at 9:00 a.m. The park is off CA Highway 152, 7 miles west of Gilroy. Pre-registration is required. No special skills are required. Please wear long pants and hiking boots and bring a long-sleeved shirt, sun or rain protection and a water bottle. All necessary tools and work gloves are provided. All registered volunteers will receive a confirmation notice prior to the event, including a map and final details. Description
Since 1924, when Stevens Creek County Park was established, people have given their time and talents to help make Santa Clara County Parks special places to visit. In 2010, nearly 2000 volunteers donated over 40,000 hours of service to a variety of projects and programs.
