Pathways for Women shelter provides refuge for single mothers who are experiencing homelessness and are very low income. We have 5 emergency shelter single room occupancy units and 8 transitional single room occupancy units. All families work with a Family Advocate to secure more permanent affordable housing.

Volunteers will assist and work closely with the Housing Evening Staff with turning each unit to ready it for the next family to move in.

Regular tasks include:

  • Gathering bedding from the donation room and making beds
  • Filling laundry baskets with sundry items and cleaning supplies
  • Gathering food items. dishes, silverware, pots and pans
  • Clean room in order to make the room inviting and welcoming for the new family

Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Available Weekday Evenings/ 7-10 hours a week
  • Ability to be able to work independently and as part of team
  • Organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with diverse population
  • Demonstrate good judgment
  • Lift up to 30 pounds
