A nationally recognized autism Non-Profit in West Hollywood is seeking volunteers to help with many different types of responsibilities, specifically in social media, website, program coordination, and general office tasks. Please carefully read below before replying to this post. If you do not fit into one of these below categories but still want to help, please still reach out, we have many other areas in which volunteers can be valuable. What You Get: • Experience in the Non-profit sector • Negotiating, writing, and communication skills • A general knowledge in topics such as autism, nutrition, health and wellness, etc. • Fun office environment with food, drinks, and casual dress code • Hands on experience Class credit can be given if you are a student at a university or college There are four types of volunteers that we are searching for: 1. Social Media We are looking for someone that would like to get experience in the social media sector of a non-profit organization and has previous experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Some assignments would include, cultivating and writing content for campaigns, events, and daily social media for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and E-newsletter, drafting social media posts for celebrity ambassadors, responding to posts and maintaining our presence on social media outlets. Some experience with Photoshop and InDesign is preferred but training can be given depending on your level of experience. Creative thinking and a natural ability and eye for design is critical to the job. Please see other requirements below. 2. Website Development and Strategy We are looking for someone who would like to work on developing, maintaining, and promoting our website. Last year we got 1.2M views and we are looking to double that number this year. The best person for this job would have some experience with Silver Stripe programing and have a hunger to be creative and get hands on experience. Some assignments would include, assistance with editing and posting website content, assistance pulling analytics for reporting, assistance publishing bi-monthy e-newsletters, and creating new web content and design for website and other company websites. Program General Support Our program general support volunteer will get experience organizing and running a successful program under the supervision of our program coordinator. Some assignments would include, shipping required documents, program supplies and other critical components to grant recipients, keeping supplies organized and maintained for program use, and maintaining important program documents. The best person for this job would be highly organized and efficient, as well as motivated to help out whole office in general tasks. Please see additional requirements below. 4. Program Specialist Our program specialist would get hands on experience with running a non-profit grant program. Tasks would include calling families for updates, help maintain our family forums, and work closely with program coordinator. The best person for this job would be motivated to learn about non-profit programs, highly professional, organized, and great with people that are dealing with disabilities. Additional requirements for all volunteer positions • Excellent writing skills are needed • Creative thinking • Detail oriented • Team player • Punctual and accountable • Organization and time management is key • Have reliable transportation (doing errands will be a part of the job) • Must be able to work at least 2 days a week • Have a strong work ethic - we need to know that when you take on a task, it will be completed. • Meet deadlines • Positive Attitude • Have an interest in working at a non-profit organization • Take direction well • Looking for a candidate that always goes above and beyond If you feel you could be a great addition to our family, please contact us and we will set up a time to speak about how you can get involved and help those affected by autism spectrum disorders. Description

Generation Rescue is the leading national organization that provides hope, information and immediate treatment assistance to families affected by autism spectrum disorders.

We have a number of ways to support families including more than 1,400 volunteer parent mentors (we call them our "Rescue Angels"), a toll-free hotline, programming on autism treatment, a national conference, virtual and local conferences, a list of recommended physicians, and medical grants for families who cannot afford critical treatments such as doctor visits, lab testing and nutritional counseling.
