What is Lemonade Day?
Lemonade Day is a free, community wide, educational initiative designed to teach children how to start, own and operate their own business--a lemonade stand. Through this experience, children will learn the entrepreneurial skills necessary to be successful in the future and become contributing members of their communities. Lemonade Day teaches children how to set goals, find an investor, select a site, create advertising, build a stand, comparison shop for the best supplies, make the lemonade, learn how to manage money and so much more. After covering their expenses and paying back their investors, participants keep what they’ve earned and are encouraged to open a youth savings account and give a portion of their earnings to a charity of their choice.
