The Dave Krache Foundation and Cycology Bike Shop are hosting the second Silver Comet Trail Bike Ride the Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 24 & 25, 2015).
More details will follow soon on their websites on the ride itself, but we are looking for volunteers to set up and staff SAG stops along the way (between Rockmart, Georgia and Anniston, Alabama).
The SAG stops staff items for the riders who are biking 90+ miles from Georgia to Alabama on Sunday, and then Alabama to Georgia on Monday.
The responsibilities entail:
- Setting up a table and possibly a pop-up tent, depending on the stop location
- Offering riders fruit and other snacks
- Offering riders drinks to hydrate
- Assisting with minor first aid needs, if necessary
- Being able to assist with bike repairs is a major plus!
- Breaking down the table and pop-up tent, and delivering it to the coordinator that same weekend (on rare occasion, we will need help dropping it off SAG supplies at the next SAG stop, no more than 30 miles away).
You won't be left alone! We will have a min of 3 people at each SAG stop.
Each stop is set up and staffed for approximately 1-2 hours, so you can staff more than one stop that weekend if you would like.
Please let us know if you're interested, and as details are hammered out, we'll keep you informed as to what SAG stops will be used and what times they'll need staffing.
Did you read all this to decide that you actually want to participate as a rider? No problem - we'd love to have you! Email allison@davekrache.com and we'll get you an application!
All proceeds of the ride go to help kids in need in metro Atlanta play the sports they love!
