Spend one Saturday a month with The Pearl Club as a college readiness coach! In this role you will build a relationship with young women as they prepare for and complete their college applications and transition to college. You will also help them continue to build skills like networking, time management and presentation skills. To join our sisterhood, you will need to:
- Be a caring adult with relevant experience
- Have a derious interest in helping young women build skills and become college-ready
- Have an open personality and fun!
- Submit an application
- Commit to a 12-month mentorship from July 2015 - June 2016
- Attend required orientation and mentor training on Saturday, July 18 11am - 3pm and complete all application materials
- Commitment and availability to meet every 2nd Saturday, 10am - 2pm
- Furnishing a background check and child abuse clearances (we pay for these)
- Attend and complete a pre-service training and three other quarterly training during the year.
- Submit resume, participate in an interview and 2 references to tamasiajohnson@pearlclub.org
- Be approved and selected to be a coach!

The Pearl Club is a 501(c)3 organization that has a mission to educate, empower and support young women to overcome poverty by fostering advanced educational pursuits.
Description
We offer the School of College Success (SCS) to empower young women to overcome poverty by earning a post-secondary degree and enter the workforce.
The School of College Success provides support and academic enrichment to assist and guide students through college to graduation. Specifically, SCS provides:
Be a College Student for a Week: All students have the opportunity to prepare for college through an authentic college experience.
Pre-College Assistance: Incoming freshman students receive transition support to ensure that they are registered for classes, have completed all financial aid requirements, secured housing, and are ready to begin their first semester.
College Enrichment and Mentorship: During the academic school year, all college students receive ongoing coaching and assistance.
College Success Goals: Each year, college students are given 8-10 College Success Goals to ensure they remain on the path to college graduation and intentional about their plans post-college graduation.
Emergency Financial Assistance: Students who have been enrolled in TPCU for at least a year and have at least a 2.5 college GPA will have the opportunity to receive emergency support up to $1000.
