The House Captain is the project team leader for one of our National Rebuilding Day home-repair/renovation projects. He or she is ultimately responsible for the completion of the work scope on time and within budget and is the key leader overseeing volunteers and work at the site. The HC's tasks include deciding on the work to be accomplished (in conjunction with the office staff and within budget), working with the Logistics Coordinator to determine and order materials, determining the number of volunteers needed for the job, directing volunteers on the workday, and ensuring that the team completes the work it starts.
National Rebuilding Day is Saturday, April 30, 2016, but House Captains begin organizing their projects in February and March. Depending on the size of the project one or two other Saturdays (April 16 and 23) may be needed for prep work and/or May 7 for punch-list items.
Project sites include homes and non-profit facilities in Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights, Mahwah, Moonachie, Northvale, Paramus, Ridgewood, and Teaneck. A house captain (or co-captains) will be assigned to each site.

Rebuilding Together North Jersey partners with the community and skilled labor to supply volunteers that spend rewarding days doing repairs and modifications to homes and non-profit facilities, allowing people to live in homes that are safe, healthy, and accessible. Volunteers are also needed for committees and fundraising activities, including Trivia Night and our Holiday House Tour.
