Orange Literacy needs volunteer tutors for parents in the community who want to learn English. Classes will be two hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 PM at Grady Brown Elementary School. Tutors will work with small groups of parents, focusing on the English they need to help their kids in school and communicate with teachers. Time commitment will be around 5-6 hours per week. Class will begin in February and go through May. Many of these parents will be Spanish-speakers, but you do not need Spanish skills to tutor. No language skills or teaching experience are required. We will provide training and support. Visit orangeliteracy.org/tutor to fill out an online application or contact Joy Turner at jturner@orangeliteracy.org for more information.
