ORGANIZATION: Promotion of Education in Pakistan (PEP) Foundation

We are seeking an individual to work directly with the president of the PEP Foundation, Dr. Khalid Iqbal, for 1-2 days a week. The work involves correspondence with universities and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and related institutions; research and the generation of documents on issues of higher education and assisting in the writing of articles for publication in Pakistani newspapers. This work can be done from home, with meetings via Skype. If the volunteer resides in New York City, in person meetings with Dr. Iqbal will be arranged occasionally. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, especially the ability to write well in English, and have a strong interest in furthering higher education.

The mission of the PEP Foundation is to promote the right of all students in Pakistan to access quality higher education and to equip young people with the academic skills and social conscience needed to become active participants in the development of society. In particular, the Foundation strives to address the needs of economically disadvantaged but academically gifted students who would otherwise be denied higher education.

Description

The PEP Foundation is a public, non-profit, apolitical organization that was founded by two world famous Alzheimer disease scientists, Drs. Khalid Iqbal and Inge Grundke-Iqbal in December 1994.
