Volunteer Tutors (VT) provide targeted supplemental instruction to adult learners who are struggling with specific areas in math, reading, or writing. VTs should be willing to accommodate adult learners' time, as many of the clients enrolled have rigid availability. VTs could be assigned one (1) to five (5) adult learners depending on need. VTs are needed on an as needed basis (appointment only) during evening hours from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. VTs will have access to the agency's instructional curriculum and must be advanced or expert in all areas of the the subject tutored. The tutor will submit reports, as applicable, to document the clients' gains. Volunteers must have at least a Bachelor's degree in the area of subject or related area they would like to teach. All volunteers must submit a volunteer application, provide a copy of I.D., complete a level II background check, and complete a volunteer orientation/training before beginning as a VT.

VTs are also used as substitute instructors on an as needed basis. Advanced requests are made to the VT if he/she is needed in this capacity.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information through the Volunteer Match network or directly at info@resourcestoempower.org.
