Do you enjoy taking center stage with excitement and energy? Think running a 20 minute assembly to share with kids about the importance of blood cancer research could be really rewarding? Well we have a volunteer opportunity just for you!
LLS is looking for energetic and excited volunteers to go into our schools and share their passion for ending blood cancers with students and teachers alike. We are looking for someone who has their own transportation and can travel intermittently 1-5 times throughout their area between January and April. Assemblies are generally no longer than 20 minutes and because many of our amazing schools who run our coin drive are too far away from Seattle for a visit still need to be pumped up about raising money for a great cause!
*We will be holding in-person/phone interviews for interested candidates and will set up a training date. Training will include assembly materials and light refreshments.

Mission Statement
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.
Description
Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.
In 2022, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Washington/Alaska Chapter was founded in 1984 to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves patients and families throughout Alaska and Washington.
