ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society, Los Angeles Coastal Cities Unit

The production chair oversees the style, décor, logistics, food, and entertainment for the event. They will work closely with the American Cancer Society staff partner to oversee the evening program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend Cal Spirit 30 on July 19, 2015, at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City.
  • Understand and abide by the American Cancer Society’s policies and gala guidelines.
  • Understand the American Cancer Society’s mission, and work to increase the visibility of the Society and the Cal Spirit 30 event in the community.
  • Provide connections through professional and social contacts to enhance the success of the event.
  • Recruit sub-committee chairs and volunteers.
  • Coordinate event details and production with the auction and revenue enhancer chair; sponsorship and underwriting chair; and media and public relations chair.
  • Work with the event chair and your Society staff partner on the selection, planning, preparation, and layout of the site, equipment, facilities, entertainment, decorations, restaurants, food, and beverages.
  • Work with the event chair and your Society staff partner to develop a logistics plan and agenda for the event.
  • Help the volunteer chair recruit and coordinate setup, day-of-event, and post-event volunteers.
  • Coordinate the production of the event, site visits, and day-of-event volunteers with the other committee chairs.
  • Attend committee meetings.
