Uhuru Foods & Pies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Black Star Industries and we are looking for people who are passionate about social justice and food who are willing to volunteer with us for the holiday pie season preparing pie fillings, baking, selling and transporting pies.
This is a great way to express your support for black community social and economic justice supporting economic development for African people here and abroad. In particular we are looking for more volunteers to join us on our final two days of baking this season!
We need people to help assist the baking coordinator in the kitchen on Monday, December 22nd from 4 to 10pm and also on Tuesday, December 23rd any hours between 7am and 10pm. All baking takes place at a shared kitchen in Emeryville.
We also invite people to help sell pies at our pie pop up tables in Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, San Francisco between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Find our pie table sites below.
