RISE week teaches children about both the Civil Rights Movement and other issues affecting today’s society through stories and creative literature. The goal of RISE week is to engage children in the challenges of our past, the milestones we prevailed, and the issues we currently face in order to create a better future. Join the RISE team to empower youth and promote the power of books by reading to school-age children.
There is a two-hour training on January 14th at 6:00pm at 1401 Southwest Blvd. Following the training, we need commitments of 20-30 minutes for each classroom through the week of January 18th.
