PAL Program Volunteer

The PAL Program is a volunteer program designed to improve the hospital experience for patients 70 years and older. During hospitalization, seniors often develop delirium and functional decline; the PAL Program aims to prevent delirium from occuring in our patients. Volunteers will assist with the following: communication techniques that prevent confusion and maintain cognitive functioning; therapeutic activities designed to stimulate and maintain cognitive and physical well-being; mobilization maintenance to assist patients with walks and exercise regimen; and mealtime companionship to provide mealtime assistance. This opportunity is great for high school and college students interested in the health care field. The PAL Program is a very rewarding experience. Patients appreciate the visits made by our volunteers! Join US!
