The success of Walk MS is directly related to the wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to the chapter. We welcome volunteers of all ages, abilities and talents to assist with a variety of volunteer opportunities. There is only one requirement - a desire to see a world free of multiple sclerosis!
Walk MS Volunteer Opportunities:
CHECK-IN CREW 7 AM - 11 AM
Our check-in crew volunteers are the first faces our walkers see! Volunteers assist in event set-up, collect pledge envelopes, register walk-on participants, and hand out T-shirts.
MISSION MANIACS 9 AM - 1 PM
Maniacs bring the mission to Walk MS! Maniacs circulate through the crowd to welcome and direct event participants, thank people for participating, distribute Walk MS goodies to participants and cheer on participants.
CHEER CREW 9 AM - 1 PM
Wanted: Volunteers with energy to spare! Our cheer crew volunteers are stationed at cheer zones along the route to encourage and cheer on our event participants, monitor the course and direct any participants during the walk.
CELEBRATION CREW 10:30 AM - 3 PM
Volunteers assist with various tasks at the Walk MS finish line, which includes the set-up and distribution of lunch (varies by site), distributing medals and event break down.
ENTERTAINERS
Got a special talent? Share your skills with Walk MS participants to make it a memorable experience for all! We’re looking for musicians, DJs, face painters, magicians, clowns, balloon artists, and more to donate their time and join the movement.
Please remember that volunteer groups (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church groups, school service clubs, etc.) are always welcome!!!

The mission is to mobilize people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supported solely by voluntary contributions. We are a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now. This means we actively raise funds to provide programs and services for people with MS and to fund research to move us closer to a world free of multiple sclerosis. The NJ Metro Chapter strives to provide knowledge and assistance to help people with MS and their families maintain the highest possible quality of life. These goals are achieved through a variety of national and local programs.

Volunteers are integral in our fight against multiple sclerosis. At the heart of so many of our service programs and fundraising events are the volunteers whose dedication, passion, and commitment help us achieve great success. Whether you’re looking to volunteer one time or on an ongoing basis, there are a variety of opportunities to match your skills, interest, and availability.

We offer several key fundraising activities - Walk MS, Bike MS: Coast the Coast, MuckFest MS, and Bike MS: Country Challenge.
