A robotics demo

Discover E (Engineering) is an evening of interesting, interactive and fun engineering, science, math, and technology demonstrations for K-12 students and their parents or guardians. We are looking for volunteers to bring fun, interactive demonstrations at the Discover E 2015, our 13th annual Engineers Week activity to be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Los Alamos High School Commons Area, free and open to the public from 4:30 to 7:00 PM.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Los Alamos Chapter of ASM, International is to provide a forum for materials information exchange between our members and to support the materials information needs of our community through educational semiars and youth outreach activities.

Description

The Los Alamos Chapter of ASM International is a professional society for materials, metallurigcal and other related engineers and scientists. Several technical dinner meetings are held each year for the edification of our members and guests. We also sponsor educational seminars on various topics. We co-sponsor an annual Discover E (Engineering) event for K-12 students with the Northern New Mexico Chapter of ASME, judge and provide awards at local and regional science fairs, and provide local college bound students with an interest in materials science and engineering with scholarship opportunities.
