ORGANIZATION: Minnesota Children's Museum

Are you looking to practice your skills in working with shop tools and gain new experience? Minnesota Children's Museum is looking for a volunteer to help our Exhibits team fabricate and repair exhibit components. Responsibilites include: building and modifying wooden, foam and cintra props and exhibit components, applying graphics, grommets, laminating and cutting materials, helping to set up exhibit spaces in the Museum, cleaning supplies and materials used and keeping the Exhibits work area tidy. We are looking for someone who has some prior experience in a shop setting operating a skill saw, ban saw, sander, or related tools. This volunteer will also have an interest working in a professional setting devoted to children and the ability to follow directions with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone to devote at least 2 hours or more per week to this position. Mondays are preferred, between 9am-4:30pm, however Tuesday-Friday is acceptable for a shift as well. This position will last for at least 10 weeks (beginning in January 2015), depending on the needs of the Exhibits team.
