Volunteers, Farm hands, willing helpers, and those wishing ot learn about farm life:
We are looking for volunteers to assist our 501(c)(3) organization that teaches sustainable living and farming through hands-on learning. He is some of what you can help us do:
Some of what we do:
• Rescue and rehabilitate unwanted or abandoned farm animals. Currently, we have small populations of chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep, goats, donkeys, horses, cows and even a few dogs who look after all of the other animals.
• Raise chickens and ducks from the eggs that they lay while growing big on our farm.
• Breed and raise healthy rabbits.
• Work with unhealthy, unsocialized, neglected horses to make them happy, friendly, rideable creatures who learn to trust in the goodness of humans. Our rescued donkeys and cows would love a little TLC as well!
• Teach about the ins and out of running a farm. Some examples are learning to drive and use a tractor for different purposes, ordering and picking up food for the animals, and animal healthcare.
• We also teach aquaponics, rainwater harvesting, and have greenhouses coming soon!
If you ever wanted a farm but weren't able to have on, come "borrow" ours by volunteering with us! We appreciate all ages, levels of skill/experince, and availability.
