ORGANIZATION: Volunteer New York!

Many times the decision to leave an unsafe situation and seek help is made quickly, leaving families without basic necessities when they enter a shelter.

For Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, volunteers will help to pack 100 welcome bags with items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, lotions and other full sized toiletries. The bags are usually clear cellophane tied with a bow and contain a picture colored by the volunteer to make it brighter.

Be a part of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

*This is a family-friendly project for children 6 and over. If you are interested in signing up as a family, please choose Sign up with a team. Thanks!
