The Extra Yard 5K benefiting the Extra Yard for Teachers Initiative is the OFFICIAL RACE of the College Football Playoff National Championship. Volunteers are needed for pre-event packet pick-up and on race day. We have opportunities to cheer and direct runners along the race course, help with the water stop, and assist with operations at the start/finish line and post-race tailgate. This event will happen only once in Texas for at least three years. The goal is to raise funds for local teachers, who often go the extra yard financially for their students and classrooms. Race day is Saturday, January 10, 2015, and the event takes place at the Cotton Bowl inside Fair Park. There are volunteer opportunities beginning at 5:30am and running through 12:00pm in different shifts. Pre-event packet pick-up takes place at Academy Sports + Outdoors on Forest Lane in Dallas on Wednesday January 7 and Thursday January 8 from 1:00pm - 7:00pm, and on Friday January 9 at the Dallas Convention Center from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.

Since launching DFWRUNS our passion has grown, not only in DFW but throughout the state of Texas and across the country. So we ask that you look at the DFW in our name the same way as you look at the DFW airiport as an intergalactic (yeah we had to use that word) hub. Meaning we are not confined to just North Texas as you may have seen our team working for clients in places like Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, or Austin.
Just the same don't look at the RUNS in our name as only working in the running community. As you will see our talents reach beyond the running community to encompass what we call the entire active lifestyle marketplace.
If you have worked with us before than you will understand our passion and if you haven’t worked with us yet then you soon will. We believe in the active lifestyle community as a powerful market segment. We have participated in it and have felt its explosive growth. And we are here to make sure it continues.
