ORGANIZATION: SOAR 55, Service Opportunities After Reaching 55

Work with the Citizenship Program case managers, assisting with a variety of activities related to the Citizenship program. Learn about the citizenship process and other related issues first-hand by helping us screen our clients for naturalization. The volunteer may also assist with administrative work and general office duties as needed. This volunteer opportunity is a great way to gain professional experience in a social services setting and to learn about local citizenship programs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer skills such word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • High level of organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to details. Follow up and follow though required.
  • Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, ability to communicate in other languages would be helpful, but not required.
  • References and CORI check required

Expectations: All volunteers are expected to model positive behavior and represent the organization's core mission of providing services to help enhance lives and support people in need. Additional expectations include staying within the boundaries of the job, maintain client confidentiality, and abide by organization's policies stated in the Volunteer Handbook.

Training: Individual training by supervisor. Online orientation required and additional trainings throughout the volunteer commitment.

SOAR 55 is closing as of March 31. The SOAR 55 Nonprofit Management Consultants are exploring opportunites to become its own 501c3 program at this time
