We need your help to understand the scope of homelessness in DeKalb County. Please join other volunteers in counting the number of homeless persons sleeping on the streets in our community on a single night. The DeKalb County Human and Community Development Department, in collaboration with Pathways Community Network Institute, is conducting the 8th annual homeless count on the night of Thursday, January 22, 2015*.
The homeless count provides valuable information on the number and basic characteristics of people sleeping outdoors and in shelters. The information gathered is used by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to track our success in ending homelessness. The counts also direct millions of dollars to our community for homeless program services and housing. So, remember, Every Count Counts!
