About Cuso International

Cuso International is an international development organization that works to reduce poverty and inequality through the efforts of skilled volunteers. Each year, we place volunteers from North and South America in developing countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America. Volunteers collaborate with local partners on health, education, environment, social justice and livelihoods projects, sharing knowledge and experience to create sustainable change.

About the Help Them Hope

Help Them HOPE is a small non-profit organization that both empowers and provides inclusive services to people with disabilities/chronic illnesses across Peru. Inclusive services and greater opportunities to access education and work opportunities are very important to the well-being of many people with disabilities in Peru. In Peru alone, 8 out of 10 people with disabilities are unemployed. High unemployment rates of people with disabilities can be attributed to both an inability to attain an education- whether for financial or accessibility reasons- but also discrimination within the workforce. This puts many people with disabilities across the country at a disadvantage. Hope provides programs such as both their HOPE Scholarship and new national volunteer program (pilot) to give people with disabilities the opportunity to strive and achieve their dreams, by reducing barriers that often leave people discouraged. www.helpthemhope.org
