This is an opportunity to make a positive 'first impression' on people coming through the door at the Administrative Service Center of the local Library System.
The duties are:
Greet public/staff and provide polite, friendly and appropriately professional initial contact for visitors, vendors, guests, staff or others in the reception lobby
Directvisitors to sign in, provide/collect appropriate badges or name tags
Direct individuals to appropriate staff, conference rooms, and/or departments
Contact and alert appropriate staff by phone of arrival of guests or visitors
Make public address announcements, if required
- Light clerical support, as tasked
The candidate needs these qualifications;
Able to communicate in a positive, polite and respectful manner
Outgoing and comfortable with people, especially with strangers
Fluent and proficient in spoken English and comprehension
Able to work independently or with minimal direct supervision and instruction
Able to follow-through on light clerical or office tasks (for example, creating or applying labels, stuffing envelopes, etc.)
Strong adequate organizational skills, with ability to follow-through on assigned tasks
Maintain confidentiality
Appropriate business attire
Successfully pass a background check
Time Commitment is a minimum of three months. Hours are 10-2 Monday through Friday. You may work one, or more, days per week. NOTE- This does not mean you have to be 55 to fill this position)

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Snohomish County matches skills/training and preferences of persons 55+ to available volunteer opportunities and promotes their voluntary service as a valuable community resource.
Description
RSVP matches personal interests, skills and lifelong experiences with non-profit public organizations at over 116 different partner agencies, including non-profits, throughout the county. Benefits of being an RSVP volunteer are: ~excess insurance coverage including Liability, Auto, and Accident. ~partial reimbursement for transporatation costs to and from volunteer stations, subject to certain regulations and limits. ~ongoing recognition and Annual Recognition Event to RSVP volunteers. The only agency tracking and reporting the volunteer activities of persons age 55 and older through the National Senior Corps, RSVP promotes retired and senior persons as viable members of the community, able to share their skills, time and experience through volunteer service.
