DESCRIPTION: Facilitate weekly Conversation Circles program at the Mounds View, Shoreview, or Roseville branches. Lead and direct conversation with English Language Learners in order to assist them with their speaking and understanding of English. Also, there will be a space in the meeting room for attendees to bring small children. Activities such as coloring or independent reading may be encouraged. QUALIFICATIONS: Patience and understanding with new speakers of English, ability to keep conversation flowing, ability to multi-task with learners at various English levels. TRAINING: ESL Pre-Tutor training (12 hours) will be provided by the Minnesota Literacy Council through Silver View Education Center or Roseville Adult Learning Center. TIME COMMITMENT: Weekly, or every other week as possible. 2 hours per session with travel and prep time.
