The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about multiple sclerosis now. The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. Headquartered in Center City Philadelphia, the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter was established in 1954 and is one of the largest of the Society’s chapters. Our office is located at 30 South 17th Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

General Intern Requirements & Application Process

  • Have obtained at least Sophomore status in a Bachelor degree program; OR be enrolled in Graduate degree program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and proactively follow up
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (preferably 2010)
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience is a requirement
  • Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail
  • Sensitivity to and a positive attitude toward people with disabilities

  • Summer interns typically work May through August
  • Fall interns typically work August through November

Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design intern will use their knowledge to promote MS awareness and updates as well as chapter events and programs by creating and updating chapter graphic design components. This will include the designs needed for electronic newsletter banners, marketing materials such as postcards, rack cards and posters and clothing such as participant and volunteer t-shirts and sweatshirts. In addition to a cover letter and resume, candidates for this internship must submit a link to an online portfolio. This position is an unpaid internship but may earn college credit.
