ORGANIZATION: RSVP of Snohomish County

  • 4 people are interested

We are looking for adults to assist teens on Martin Luther King day, January 19, 2015. That's when hundreds of students, off from school that day, will be helping others in the community. They will be helping aging seniors with household chores, assisting on outdoor environmental efforts, cleaning and painting at senior centers and more.

Your job is to be coach, mentor, advisor or chaperone. You are there to make sure the kids can do their jobs and be free of distractions. The projects last about 4 hours. You meet your team at the worksite, introduce yourself and offer guidance where needed.

This provides a chance to interact with young people, get out of the house and do something for someone else in the memory of Dr. King. This is a collaborative project of the United Way, Catholic Community Services and the YMCA. There is a short (90 minutes) training session the week before the event.
