Help make a lasting impact on the lives of the next generation by volunteering with the CalPREP Mentoring Program!
We are seeking passionate individuals and groups from all professions and educational backgrounds to serve as one-on-one mentors. As a CalPREP mentor, you would help guide one to two students in grades 5-12 to develop a passion for higher education and lifelong learning. Mentors use a student-centered mentoring curriculum, focused on goal setting, career exploration and college knowledge.
CalPREP is a program within CalSERVES (www.calserves.org), an after school, tutoring and volunteer organization dedicated to helping our underserved youth and families overcome the complex challenges associated with poverty.

Mission Statement
CalSERVES provides opportunities to discover passions, realize potential, and express power. We engage AmeriCorps members in service opportunities throughout Southwest Santa Rosa. Our members provide one-on-one literacy tutoring, run after school programs, operate as community leaders, and build volunteer capacity in under-served communities.
Description
CalSERVES, a local education organization, is looking for volunteers to work with K-8 grade students after school! Are you hard-working, reliable, and positive with a readiness to share your skills and interests? If so, we are excited to meet you! Our program runs in 8 schools in Southwest Santa Rosa. Our needs vary from site-to-site, but overall we are looking for compassionate individuals to support literacy, homework help (group or one-on-one), provide classroom support, or support fun clubs. Volunteers would help keep kids on task, answer questions, and encourage participation. Specialty is a unique part of our program, and our day. Our kids cycle through Art, Math, Nutrition, Garden, P.E., and Science each week to learn about important topics. If you have a particular interest in one of these areas, this is the program for you! We always need support and expertise to provide fun, academically focused activities for our kids.
If you want to help make a difference in your community, earn some priceless work experience, and be a positive role model for kids in need, CalSERVES is a great opportunity!
