The mission of the Friendly Visitor is to provide an elderly neighbor with a social relationship. As we age and become less mobile it is hard to establish relationships and interests. Sometimes family doesn't live close by, elders are less connected to religious organizations and have increasingly limited social circles. For a elder who lives alone, this loneliness and isolation can lead to depression. As a friendly visitor you could turn a lonely day into an exciting adventure. All it takes is a few hours a month to brighten a lonely senior's day. You could play cards, cook together, share stories and ideas. The possibilities are endless! This is a great family opportunity. Your gift of time and companionship is priceless to a elder living alone.

Mission Statement
The mission of the NORTH END-SOUTH COMO BLOCK NURSE PROGRAM is to maintain levels of independence for our neighborhood seniors through the collaborative efforts of volunteers, professional staff and contracted in-home nursing services. Proudly helping neighborhood seniors since 1987
Description
We are a non-profit community based home-care agency supported by grants, city, county and state funding, and the generous donations of our neighbors.
It is our goal to have a volunteer readily available whenever a senior or their family member calls for help!
By bringing together volunteers and older people, we can serve as a bridge to building stronger communities, the same commuinities they helped to build. Stronger communities can in turn better meet the needs and develop the strengths of people living there now and in the future.
