PLACEMENT PURPOSE
This is a national program being offered throughout 2014 until March 2015 in the South Jersey Region. Using carefully assessed curriculum tools, this one-hour program provides emergency-preparedness education to youth in grades 3-5 in school and after-school settings. In a highly interactive format, the program addresses home fire safety, local hazards, coping skills and making a personal emergency kit in a pillowcase that is supplied by the program.
OPEN TIME DAYS
- Initial Presenter and Project training [varies by Chapter; approximately 5 hours total]
- 2 hour commitment per presentation [1 hour set up/clean up, 1 hour presentation], not including picking up and dropping off materials from the Chapter, commuting to and from presentating site, or any additional tasks done at the Chapter. Within the South Jersey Region, we try to schedule multiple presentations at one site in the same day.
