Good Grief
Volunteer with Good Grief today!

Interns will have the opportunity to assist with the planning, development, and implementation of organizational initiatives for both the Program and Development teams. These opportunities will give the interns a hands-on experience and insight into the management of a non-profit organization.

In order to ensure our interns get a complete learning experience, we require interns to take part in Good Grief’s facilitator training-a 36-hour training to teach volunteers important skills on how to support those who are grieving. This mandatory training allows interns to facilitate support groups on our Nights of Support, a key component of the direct service portion of our mission.

About Good Grief

Location:

38 Elm Street, Morristown, NJ 07960, US

Mission Statement

Good Grief's mission is to provide unlimited and free support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mother, father, sister, or brother through peer-support programs, education, and advocacy.

Description

Good Grief provides free peer support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mom, dad, sister, or brother. Our programs equip grieving families with the support and tools they need to face their grief. We help families develop healthy coping skills, provide a caring environment to process feelings and fears, and create a sense of hopefulness during a very difficult and uncertain time.

In addition to our bi-weekly programs, Good Grief's enrichment programs enhance the quality of our participant's experience. These programs focus on family time, parenting skills, opportunities to explore grief in our summer camps and equine therapy, and physical well-being through outdoor adventures and play. All of our enrichment programs encourage participants to make new friends, find different ways to express grief, spend time remembering the person who died, and discover ways to develop a new sense of normalcy. At the heart of Good Grief, we are a community of people who understand and support one another.
