Serve as a Pro Bono Planning Consultant in the Deep Dive Cohort Program Efficient technology is essential for nonprofits to increase their impact on the community. Unfortunately, many nonprofits face technological challenges and needs that do not allow them to adequately use technology to address their missions. We are seeking volunteers with diverse tech skills and a broad understanding of business technology to support nonprofits throughout the planning phases of the Deep Dive program.
Volunteers are matched to work in pairs with a nonprofit organization. Each pair will follow a highly structured process to facilitate an assessment of their organization's current technology systems, help identify key issues and opportunities for improvement. As a Technology Planning Consultant, you will have the opportunity to: Apply your knowledge of business technology in this high-impact volunteer role Learn about strategic planning and decision making processes Increase an organization’s understanding of their technology needs Make a difference in the nonprofit community’s ability to utilize technology to their advantage
Volunteers will serve approximately 10-12 hours per month from March to June 2015. Through this experience, volunteers will work with a nonprofit in a structured and high impact volunteer role.
Interested? Please view the full volunteer description and apply online by February 15, 2015. For questions or more information, please contact Aimy at aimy@501commons.org or 206.682.6704 x113.

Description
501 Commons was founded in 1989 as Executive Service Corps of Washington. In 2010, we changed our name to 501 Commons, reflecting a changing role and broader range of services. Most of our clients are in the Pacific Northwest, but many of our services are available to nonprofits in other geographic areas.
Our name is based on the principle of the "the commons." The commons can be characterized as having five distinct attributes:
- Free and uncoerced participation
- A shared purpose
- Jointly held resources
- A sense of mutuality
- Relationships that are characterized by justice and fairness
Our Theory of Practice describes how we approach our work and our Team Charter describes how our team of 45+ work together to serve our clients.
501 Commons is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, nonprofit, charitable organization and is a member of the Executive Service Corps - United States. By volunteering your time to 501 Commons, you are impacting the success of over 2,000 organizations each year. Join us!
