ORGANIZATION: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Pacific Northwest

Join the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a volunteer at the 2015 Scott Firefighter Stairclimb! For 24 years, firefighters from all over the world have participated in the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb - one of the world’s most physically challenging competitions. Dressed in 50 pounds of Full Combat Gear, firefighters climb The Columbia Tower’s 69 flights of stairs in support of the LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Showing they have huge hearts, these fundraisers conquer 1,311 steps and 788 feet of vertical elevation to reach the top, beat their personal best, and fulfill our motto: Climb. Conquer. Cure. You can help us make the 2015 event a success by donating your time as a volunteer. To sign-up, please fill out the form located here - http://www.llsform.org/0510FS01/form47/index.html. For help with signing up or questions please contact Charmaine Dipola ( Charmaine.dipola@lls.org). Thank you in advance, we’ll see you there!

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2022, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Washington/Alaska Chapter was founded in 1984 to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves patients and families throughout Alaska and Washington.
