Join Project RIDE and volunteer with children (and adults) with special needs while they ride horses, in the best and most joyful experience of their week. Walk alongside while they ride as a "Sidewalker" or prepare and control the horse as a "Leader". No experience is required, with kids, horses or special needs. The only requirements - you must be 14 or older and you must be able to walk for 30-60 minutes at a time in deep footing. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday - Friday between 9:30am and 7:45pm. Stable chores (feed & clean stalls) shifts also available Tuesday - Friday early mornings. Timing is flexible but each volunteer shift is generally an hour to two hours. No minimum commitment required. This is a fun and easy volunteer experience in an uplifting and positive environment full of happy people and gentle animals including barn/therapy cats. Project RIDE is a hidden gem right in the middle of downtown Elk Grove!
