What: Girl-Con
Where: GSCM Urban Program & STEM Center
When: April 18, 2015 (11am-4pm)
Who: All levels of Girl Scouts and their adults
Description: A Con is short for convention, in this case, a large, multi-genre convention for fans of
comic books, animation, card games, video games, fantasy and sci-fi novels, movies, TV shows, and other elements of pop culture. There will be a costume contest, activity stations, panel discussions, door prizes, film screenings for all levels, and more.
Volunteers Needed: I’m hoping for around 20 volunteers who can run workshops and activity stations throughout the day, as well as helping to facilitate the event by helping girls find things, rearranging chairs and tables, and setting up equipment. Instructions and materials will be provided for all activities.
