- What: The Amazing STEM Race
Where: Camp Whippoorwill
When: April 12 th, 2015 (1 pm - 5 pm)
Who: Girl Scout Daisy-Cadettes ***
Description: Girls will be able to journey around to different booths that represent various countries from around the world! At each booth, the girls will be challenged with an activity that is based on a various aspect of STEM. The girls will be constructing their own wind-powered cranks, calculating their kinetic and potential energy at different points as they climb a rock wall, and experiencing some of the native creatures of Maryland that make our state so biologically diverse!
Volunteers Needed: We’ll need about 15 volunteers for this event and all areas of STEM fields are welcome! Girls will be visiting booths in which they’ll do a pre-designed activity based around either science, technology, engineering, or math. All instructions and materials will be available and ready for the facilitators.
