Program Dates & Information Set Your Host Dates Now: 12/18/15 - 1/12/16 International Students studying in U.S. Universities wanting to stay with Jacksonville families while their dorms are closed. They cannot afford to go to their home countries and are alone due to being separated from their families for a while. We must lead the world in global understanding of human relationships and amend false impressions of Americans and our way of life.
Needs from the Community: Open Heart Student Love:Families (teachers, parents with children, retirees, singles, those looking for companionship for the Holiday season, those looking to share the American culture & Holiday tradition with other cultures, etc.) to provide their homes for friendship & hospitality for two weeks (or less)of Christmas.
A Heart of Volunteerism:Volunteers to join in activities for the students Volunteering will sharpen minds & skills that change the course of history. Student experiences with American people and homes are great resume boosts. Just as these students believe that one person CAN impact the world, so do we & we invite you to be part of a life that will impact the world.

Why Host Students: For most international students, Christmas is a very lonely time. Many can’t afford to go home and haven't seen their families for a while. The dorms are closed and no one is around to explain the meaning of the Christmas tradition. This is a nation-wide program for friendship & hospitality for two the weeks of Christmas holidays. They can visit a home and experience an American family culture & Christmas tradition! Students get to share their own culture and foods with their host and other international students. A Heart of Volunteerism: Volunteering will sharpen minds & skills that change the course of history. Student experiences with American people and homes are great resume boosts for you. Just as these students believe that one person CAN impact the world so do we & we invite you to be part of a life that will impact the world.
