Join the Student Conservation Association as we team up with National Capital Parks East and AmeriCorps to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day through service at Anacostia Park in Washington, DC.

WHEN: Monday, January 19th, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

WHERE: Anacostia Park, 1900 Anacostia Drive SE, Washington, DC 20020. (Registration and kick-off will take place in front of the Roller-skating Pavilion.

WHAT: Volunteers will help to remove invasive plant species, clean up trash and debris, and plant sapling trees.

BRING WITH YOU: Wear long pants and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring extra layers as the event will take place in any weather! Please also bring your own water bottle for staying hydrated.

PROVIDED: SCA will supply breakfast and hot lunch for volunteers as well as work gloves and all project supplies. Plenty of coffee and hot chocolate will also be provided!
