It's About Ability. Not Disability.

Are you interested in helping to improve quality of life for people with disabilities in the north suburban Chicagoland area?

If the answer is yes, we have just the volunteer opportunity for you!

Countryside Association is seeking candidates for board membership.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about ensuring that allindividuals have choice in their lives, and are able to not just live but thrive in their communities of choice. Countryside is particularly seeking Board members with business expertise, knowledge of the nonprofit world, and fundraising experience. Previous Board experience is helpful but not necessary.

Board membership goes beyond traditional volunteering and into the highest level of visionary leadership for the organization, assuming legal and financial responsibilities while serving as a community ambassador for the mission. Serving as a Board member provides a unique opportunity to put your passion for a social cause into action by applying your experience and expertise to help advance an organization's impact. It's a rewarding way to fulfill your need to serve your community while learning new skills that can enhance your own career and grow your own personal and professional networks.

Countryside was founded sixty years ago as a school for children, and has grown into one of the region's leading providers of day services for adults.

Countryside Association's mission is to advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities and their families and to support them in their efforts to live and work successfully in their chosen community. Countryside Association envisions a community where all people can reach their goals of independence, employment and full participation in society.

The organization offers a wide variety of primarily day support services in northern Cook Country and throughout Lake County at two major sites, Countryside Center in Palatine and Lakeside Center in Waukegan, serving over 700 individuals and families each year.

If you are interested in advocating on behalf of persons with disabilities and their families by joining Countryside's board, please email board@mortengroup.com to get started on the application process!
