ORGANIZATION: LEAP for Education, Inc

Tutor at-risk youth, grades 6 - 12, in Math, Science, Engineering and/or Technology. Assist with on-going projects and help to develop new STEM enrichment activities. Most volunteer opportunities are between 3 pm and 6 pm, Monday through Thursday. There may be one-on-one tutoring opportunities in the evening if any working adults are interested.

LEAP for Education empowers underserved students to achieve social and economic mobility by cultivating personal, educational, and career growth. We do this by teaching students academic and life-skills needed to perform at higher levels in middle school and high school. Students also receive ongoing personalized support and community connections which helps them graduate from college and create a future based on their strengths and interests.

Description

LEAP for Education is the first North Shore organization of its kind to empower first-generation-to-college and underserved youth to graduate from college and succeed in education and life regardless of ethnicity or gender. We deliver a portfolio of innovative, academic, life skills, career and college success programs for middle school, high school and college students creating a lasting impact in our youth, their families and communities.

LEAP has a variety of volunteer opportunities, ranging from one-time service to longer-term commitments. We believe that all supporters are vital to the organization’s mission, and engagement helps students find success and build a stronger community.
