The Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue (www.thegreatdanerescue.com) finds forever homes for Great Danes in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota. We are looking to fill the Treasurer position on our Board of Directors. This position is the following:

Duties:

As Treasurer:

• Accurately, in a timely manner, records all receipts and disbursements into accounting software.
• Maintains chart of accounts.
• Works with fellow board members to develop annual budget.
• Prepares any required financial reporting forms (Annual Tax Form 990, quarterly sales tax returns) and submits documents in a timely manner.
• Maintains Rescue's Articles of Incorporation.
• Maintains all bank accounts.
• Provides detailed reports of finances to the Board of Directors and general membership.
• Issues tax deductible receipts to donors on official rescue forms with thank you card.

As a member of the Board:

• Voting member of the Board.
• Attends monthly meetings. Location is Twin Cities but remote meeting attendance is possible.
• Communicates via email or phone frequently concerning rescue business.

Requirements:

• Organized, good accounting skills.
• Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets along with non-profit taxes is helpful.
• Good communication skills.
• Access to email and ability to respond daily.
• Works well with others and has good decision making abilities.
• Time commitment: approximately 8 hours per month
