Girls Rock Campaign Boston empowers girls to believe in themselves by providing a supportive community that fosters self-expression, confidence, and collaboration through musical education and performance.
Girls Rock Campaign Boston (GRCB) offers a volunteer run summer program for girls aged 8-17. During each session, girls have the opportunity to form bands, learn how to play an instrument (guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, or vocals), compose an original song and perform live at a local rock venue - all in one week’s time. In addition to the band practices and instrumental lessons, GRCB also provides workshops geared towards self-esteem building and self-expression including Self-Defense, Screen Printing, Women in Rock History, and Songwriting.
Volunteers are needed for any and all aspects of this operation. We need help before, during and after the summer and vacation sessions - flyering, organizing, loading gear in and out, serving food, set up and clean up , assistance with special events and fundraising- no experience necessary!

Mission Statement
Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention was founded in 1995 to demonstrate a better way to treat and educate children with emotional and behavioral disorders. AIP brings into the public schools innovative therapeutic and support programming that helps children with serious mental health issues while preventing problems and disruptions for other children in the school. The goal: To give students with social/emotional difficulties and those who are struggling in school a chance to succeed in the least restrictive setting possible.
AIP operates full-service school partnerships, including afterschool, summer, and other programs, at two Boston public middle schools. AIP also provides mental health services to children and youth with serious difficulties at close to a dozen other schools and in the children’s homes. AIP operates a one-of-a-kind inclusion model therapeutic day program inside a public school. AIP’s programs blend therapeutic, special education, and prevention approaches.
Today, AIP continues to demonstrate a sustainable public/private partnership that advances students’ emotional well-being and educational achievement.
Description
AIP runs ASPIRE, a therapeutic after school program at the Frederick Pilot Middle School in Dorchester. ASPIRE serves 52 "at-risk" students who have been referred by their teachers and school social workers. Students enrolled in ASPIRE receive additional support academically, emotionally and socially. ASPIRE serves low-income students who live in Grove Hall, Dorchester, the neighborhood of Boston with the highest incidence of gang violence. Students in ASPIRE receive homework help, tutoring, and mentoring and participate in enrichment activities including basketball, dance, drama, and arts and crafts.
ASPIRE is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and is one of only three Exemplary Programs in Boston, as designated by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
