Volunteers work closely with staff to provide services and facilitate classes that reinforce client self-sufficiency, job readiness and community integration. Various classes and activities occur throughout the work week, including: Vocational English, Civics, Public transportation, Bicycle safety, Sign language, Financial education, Job Search, and Yoga.
Requirements: Comfortable in an English-learner classroom setting. Patience, creativity, teamwork, flexibility, and laughter. Proficiency in related skills.
Minimum Commitment: 2-4 hours/ week for 4 months.

Located in Phoenix, Arizona, AARRC is a community-led refugee organization driven by the collective determination to make a positive impact on the lives of those displaced by conflict, persecution, and violence. With a team of dedicated volunteers and experienced professionals, we strive to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for every individual we serve.
AARRC offers a wide range of services tailored to the unique needs of each refugee we assist:
- Navigational Support: We provide guidance and assistance with essential services, including housing, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities, helping refugees navigate through the complexities of their new environment.
- Language and Cultural Integration: Our language and cultural programs are designed to bridge the gap and promote a sense of belonging. We offer language classes, cultural workshops, and intercultural exchange activities to foster understanding and friendship.
- Skill Development: AARRC offers skill-building workshops and vocational training to enhance employability and self-sufficiency, empowering refugees to build a secure and prosperous future.
- Community Building: We understand the importance of building a strong support network. AARRC organizes community events and gatherings to bring refugees together with local residents, creating an inclusive and harmonious community.
