Environmental Community Organizer needed in Los Angeles, CA

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: LINC Housing

As a volunteer with LINC, you will bring the skills and gifts that you possess to empower low-income families, seniors or individuals with special needs to address many of the challenges that they face every day. With so many hardships to overcome surrounding the cost of housing, education and healthy living options, environmental conscientious living can be superseded by other needs. LINC Housing has developed a challenge to empower our residents to take control of how they live and what they eat in order to create healthy communities. The Healthy Home Challenge is a 6 month long challenge focused on eating right and responsible resource use. As a community organizer for the Healthy Home Challenge, you will be instrumental in continuing the educational outreach on these critical human and global issues. The community organizer will be at the forefront of providing the knowledge that practicing environmental sustainable behaviors at home can decrease expenses and increase the overall wellbeing of our communities!

Major responsibilities may include:

  • Build relationships with community members and property management
  • Facilitate and plan community outreach events according to set guidelines
  • This position may require supervising activities with adult and or minors
  • Work with guidance from RSC or HSHC, assisting with:
  • Educational hand out creation and/or dispersal
  • Canvassing
  • Administering surveys
  • Promoting positive and social development
  • Program marketing

Learn new skills and have fun, all while sharing your talents to build a stronger and healthier community!
