Christopher House seeks board members to join its dedicated team of directors for terms beginning in January 2015. We are looking to expand our Board of Directors with committed, diverse, and accomplished professionals who are passionate about our mission of helping low income families in Chicago thrive. The Christopher House Board of Directors is ultimately accountable for all fiscal, operational, and strategic activities of Christopher House. It is responsible for defining and executing the mission and vision of the organization, for adhering to the organization’s values and code of ethics, and for presenting the organization’s purpose to the broader community. Board members must: Share resources and talents with Christopher House including expertise, time, and contacts to increase Christopher House’s capacity Support the organization’s fundraising efforts by making a personal contribution and/or help raise a minimum of $10,000 annually Commit to attend 5 board meetings annually Take an active role by serving on at least one of the Board’s standing committees and attend all committee meetings Meet annually with the CEO to establish an individualized fundraising goal Be passionate about Christopher House’s mission Time Commitment: Board members commit to a 3-year term Board members attend 5 board meetings annually, special events, and committee meetings as scheduled Benefits of joining the Christopher House Board of Directors: The opportunity to directly contribute to improving the lives of working poor families in Chicago Named recognition on Christopher House’s website To apply: Please send an email with your resume to jantoniewicz@chistopherhouse.org
