At Catholic Community Services we are fighting poverty on every front. One important resource for our community is food stamps, and many of the people who come to CCS qualify for them. However, they often struggle to fill out the applications and find answers to their questions. Can you be the one who shows them hope and compassion? We will screen clients to see if they are good candidates for food stamps. If they are, you will help them apply or give them the information to do it themselves.
By giving 2 hours a week you will strengthen families, the elderly, and the disabled by finding them long-term resources, and it’s easier than it sounds! We train you on all you need to know. You will witness the direct impact of your service and be part of a special team who is fighting poverty with long-term solutions.
A weekly commitment is required. Volunteer positions are for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Description
At Catholic Community Services we provide emergency food assistance through our food pantry, rental assistance and case management services and we provide baby layettes to low-income mothers. We serve over 50,000 individuals each year who are struggling to meet their basic needs, and lately as many as 2,000 households come through our pantry every month. Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah has been an active and integral part of the northern Utah Community since 1982.
